The Village

Llanpumsaint is an attractive rural village in the heart of Carmarthenshire, situated almost half way between Carmarthen Town and Newcastle Emlyn. The village boasts a number of community facilities such as the Memorial Hall, Church and Chapels, Public House, shop & hairdressers, post office van.

The village has expanded to include new housing developments and its activities cover a wide area. Since the closure of the traditional village Post Office the village has suffered from having a lack of ‘centre’ and information about events, activities and community news often doesn’t reach the whole community, causing issues between organisations and difficulties in delivering services throughout the community.

The Llanpumsaint Information Exchange is a group formed from representatives from various local community groups and the Community Council. The overall objective for the group is to provide an effective means of communicating vital village information to all areas, through a variety of media – Internet, Newsletter and Community Noticeboards.
